Krishna Fest 2023 – 5 Online Contests for ages 0-16

Due Date: Submit your entry using the above form by Sep 1st, 2023 (Extended by a day)
5 Contests: Guidelines for each contest are mentioned below
Age Groups: 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12 and 13-16 years
Important Note: To qualify, you must place a hard copy label “Krishna Fest 2023” in front of the participant before taking the picture or video. Digital labels will not be accepted.
Judgement criteria: Judges who are specialized in the particular area will select winners from each age group based on the guidelines mentioned in each section below.
Results & Prizes: Winners will be announced on Janmashtami (September 6th). Winners and their submissions will be published on the temple website and our social media. Prizes will be distributed on Sep 10th (Event time and details will be communicated to the winners).

Krishna Costume
Guidelines:
- Upload one picture of your child wearing a costume themed around Krishna and any of His associates like Radharani, Gopis, Gopas, devotees etc.
- To qualify, you must place a hard copy label “Krishna Fest 2023” in front of the participant before taking the picture or video. Digital labels will not be accepted.
- Judgment criteria: Creativity, props/jewelry, overall appearance
Art
Guidelines:
- Draw/paint a picture related to Lord Krishna and his activities (anything related to Krishna)
- To qualify, you must place a hard copy label or write “Krishna Fest 2023” in front of the painting/drawing before taking the picture. Digital labels will not be accepted. Art must have been done solely by the participant and must have been done after the contest was launched (August 11). Do not submit old works.
- Judgment criteria: Neatness, craftsmanship and Originality
- You will need to bring your original art work on Sep 10th for the prize distribution ceremony, absence of which will forfeit the prize
Bhagavad Gita Sloka Recitation
Guidelines:
- The participant should close his/her eyes while chanting the Slokas/translations.
- For age groups under 2 years, 2 sloka from Bhagavad Gita should be memorized and recited.
- For age groups 3 – 5 years, 5 slokas from Bhagavad Gita should be memorized and recited.
- For age groups 6 – 8 years, 8 slokas from Bhagavad Gita should be memorized and recited.
- For age group 9 and above, 8 slokas from Bhagavad Gita should be memorized and recited along with translations. Participants above age 9 should also mention the translation/meaning after each sloka.
- To qualify, you must place a hard copy label “Krishna Fest 2023” in front of the participant before taking the video. Digital labels will not be accepted.
- Judgment criteria: Clear pronunciation, meter, completion of slokas (and translations for age 9 or above)
Singing
Guidelines:
- Any songs of Lord Krishna or his avatars (Vishnu, Rama, Narsimha etc) authorized by a bonafide acharya can be sung (e.g, any vaisnava songs listed in kksongs.org, songs composed by Meera Bai, Vallabhacharya, Surdas, Annamacharya etc. may be used.)
- Singing should not cross 3 mins duration.
- To qualify, you must place a hard copy label “Krishna Fest 2023” in front of the participant before taking the video. Digital labels will not be accepted.
- Judgment criteria: Voice quality, Rhythm/Shruthi, and Proficiency
Dancing
Guidelines:

- Video should not exceed 5 mins. (Entries longer than 5 mins will be disqualified).
- Participant can chose any Indian classical dance forms for the performance
- Any devotional song/theme related to Krishna/Vishnu or his avatars can be used.
- Songs/dance should not be cinematic in nature or imitation from movies. The performance mood should be devotion.
- To qualify, you must place a hard copy label “Krishna Fest 2023” in front of the participant before taking the video. Digital labels will not be accepted.
