Human society has employed innumerable means in the pursuit of happiness: from health to honour, movies to money, drugs to dhyana and wine to wedding. As a state and a subject, it has been pursued and commented on extensively throughout world history. This reflects the universal importance that humans place on happiness.
The Vedanta-sutras reiterate this thought and state that it is not just the humans; in fact all living entities are hankering after pleasure in one form or the other. They also state that there is a reservoir or storehouse of all pleasures
Though the modern world usually relates happiness with financial success, the real tactic lies in learning the art of effectively connecting oneself to this inexhaustible source of all happiness and experience bliss whenever one chooses.
