Deepotsav

Deepotsav is observed in month of November. People celebrate the win of good over the evil force in this world. Many significance are there for deepotsavam else known as Deepavali. After Lord Ramachandra killed the deamon Ravan in the duel, he returned back to Ayodhya with mother Sita. The people of Ayodhya undergone penance for 14 years without Lord Ramachandra.

When they heard that Lord Ramachandra is approaching Ayodhya with mother Sita and his younger brother Lakshman, they were jubilant. To welcome the supreme lord to his abode Ayodhya, people lighted up the house with various lamps (known as Deepa). To celebrate this occasion Deepotsvam is widely observed.
